Update:  Since we wrote this article, Le Chalet has closed.

Good food and lots of laughs make for a good date. Le Chalet offers French food and a free comedy show put on by the Clean Comedy Club on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 7 pm.  You are expected to buy food and drinks. We aren't sure exactly how much; one site we visited said $5 per person and another site said $10 per person.

In truth, you won't have any difficulty spending $10 per person. Appetizers cost around $7 each, crepes are $10 - $15, and entrees are $15 - $25. Add a drink or two are you can easily spend $70 or $80.  The food is delicious and the portions are moderate.

Boot of beer from Le ChaletLe Chalet recommends reservations. We made ours via e-mail which was quick and easy and they confirmed them promptly. When we arrived at about 6:55 pm, the show was sold out, so it was a good thing we did get reservations. The show was about an hour and a half long. There were five comedians.  Now the performers weren't amateurs but they weren't world famous professionals either. As you might expect, some of them kept the crowd laughing and some of them had a lot of jokes that fell flat.

If you can't make Saturday night's show, Le Chalet also hosts a clean comedy showcase on the 1st Sunday of each month.
