Turf Paradise Racetrack

Feeling lucky?   Do you look smashing in a big hat, carrying little binoculars?
Then plan a fun date to Turf Paradise Racetrack!  The track runs live horse races from October-May.

Check for special events- there are discount days, free t-shirt give aways, and live music offered at frequent intervals.  On our date, we each recieved a t-shirt, and had a chance to win free movie tickets.

The track has three seating areas.  We chose to sit in the grandstand which has indoor and outdoor bleacher style seating, and lots of standing room right up next to the track.   There were several concession stands and a bar.  Admission was only $2 per person.

If you want to upgrade, the Clubhouse and the Turf Club have seating at tables, with a live monitor at each table.  You can order full meals in both areas.  Admission is $4 per person, and there is a $5 per person seating fee. 

You can still walk down and stand next to the track and be close to the action.  The menu and the prices seemed standard for classic American fare.  We ate hotdogs from the concession stand ($1 each) and they were pretty good.

 This could be a fantastic date for another couple, but we found it a bit slow.  Post times were about 40 minutes apart, and there wasn't a lot to do between races, so we became bored pretty quickly.   People all around seemed to be having a good time, though, so maybe for you, this could be a memorable day together.
