Wineglass and a menuLess than two hours north of Phoenix, the Verde Valley has gorgeous views and cooler temperatures than Phoenix, making it a perfect destination for a romantic summer date.  And what could be a better date than sipping a glass of wine from Page Springs Cellars and enjoying the scenery of the Verde Valley?

A row of grapes in a vineyardPage Springs Cellars' tasting room offers a variety of "wine flights" or samples of several varieties of wine.  Most flights included five samples.  You can order a bruschetta, flatbread pizza, and cheese plates to accompany your wine.

The tasting room at Page Springs CellarsSince we aren't experienced wine tasters, we let our waiter customize a flight for us with some of his favorite wines and we were very pleased with the wines he chose for us.   We spent about 40 minutes in the tasting room enjoying our wine and another twenty minutes wandering around the property.

The deck at Page Springs CellarsThere is a beautiful grape arbor and a picnic area overlooking Oak Creek.  You could easily spend two hours here if you had appetizers or bought a bottle to share on the deck.  You could also visit some of the other nearby vineyards or get lunch or dinner in Sedona or Jerome, two nearby towns known for their beautiful scenery and unique character.  Even closer, Oldtown Cottonwood is worth exploring.

The grape arbor at Page Spring CellarsThe cost of a flight is $10 per person and includes a souvenir glass. The winery is open 365 days a year from 11 am - 7 pm on Monday thru Wednesday and from 11 am - 9 pm on Thursday thru Sunday.
